Stitch Fix August Review - Fix #11

Well, this is the most excited I had been when opening one of my fixes in quite a while. I liked the colors in this fix, and was excited to see that I received one of the dresses I had pinned (it seems like my pins are rarely available).

The first item I tried on was the Gilli Beville Dress size small. I'm still deciding on this one. I like the back of it. It's very comfortable. I could wear it for work, or with a denim jacket for a casual day. I'm just not sure about the front. Thoughts?

Next I tried on the 41Hawthorn Kassidy Printed Faux Wrap Dress size small. I was a little surprised to see this one, as I had seen it on the Stitch Fix blog as a suggested item for busty women, which I clearly am not. It is very work appropriate, but I wouldn't wear it anywhere else. This dress confuses me, as I feel like it makes me look wide from the front, but I look thin from the side, so I don't know! The tie is not attached on this one, so you could tie it at the front or the back, whichever you prefer.

Next up was the Fate Ruby Maxi Dress size small. I had pinned this one months ago. I really like this one. My only complaints are that it's soooo long, and that the back is open. Since I'm 2 kids into the game, going braless isn't really an option for me anymore, but I think with a lacy bandeau bra it might be okay. The dress is lined to the knees, and is very comfortable. I actually emailed Stitch Fix this morning to see if they have an XS available, so maybe that would help with the length issue. Again, I'm undecided.

I tried on the Skies are Blue Zayda Mixed Material Sweater size XS next. My stylist chose this as it is somewhat similar to an item I pinned here. I like this one. The detail on the back is nice. I feel like maybe it should have been a little bit bigger? But I do think I would get some use out of it if it ever cools down here in Texas.

Last up was the Market & Spruce Berg Pintuck Detail Top size XS. This one was cuter in person than it is in pictures. I think this is another piece that I could get some use out of. I could wear it for work, or with jeans and boots in the winter.

So I have no clue what to keep or send back out of this one. Isn't that weird? I'm going to sleep on it tonight while I wait for the response about the dress.

Morning update - they don't have the dress is an XS, but I'm going to keep it anyway, along with the sweater and printed dress.
The shirt and Gilli dress are headed back.

Jumpsuit Tuesday

This is a Tinley Road jumpsuit I picked up on Piperlime before they shut down. It's super comfy, I almost feel like I'm wearing pajamas. And really, that should be the goal every day!

Monday Funday? Well, fun shoes at least!

For work today I went with black Banana Republic ankle pants, a white Hinge shirt from Nordstrom, and cobalt Vince Camuto heels to keep it fun. It's Monday, so I need all the fun I can get. And cookies. I need cookies today for sure.

Stitch Fix Vacation Fail

Sooooo, this post is not going to be my normal happy Stitch Fix post. I am in the midst of an epic Stitch Fix fail :(
I am getting ready to go on a beach vacation, and as such, I emailed my stylist requesting clothes for a beach vacation. I told her that where I'm going it will be VERY hot and humid. Even too hot and humid for maxi dresses. So, I was expecting some cute tops and lightweight above the knee beachy dresses. I got.........boyfriend jeans and t-shirts......such a bummer. Here's the style card. I was too bummed to even take pics.

So, I emailed Stitch Fix and told them I was sending everything back. They said they could get me another fix before I leave for vacation and it delivered yesterday. It's a little better, but still pretty disappointing.

The first item I tried on is the Skies are Blue Harvey Dress. It's the best of the bunch :/  I'm leaning towards keeping it as a swim suit cover up with a panama hat I have from J.Crew

Next I tried the Collective Concepts Agatha Dress. It is huuuuuuuuge. If you pin this one, ask your stylist to get you a size smaller than you really are. This one is a small and it's massive. Like I could use it as a tent.

Up next is the Pixley Mavis Dress. Also, too big. The straps are adjustable so that helped some, but it's still too big.

The Dear John Finnegan Roll Cuff Chino Shorts were next. They are okay. The color isn't the best. I might keep them just because....

Last, and worst, is the Collective Concepts Wyndham Tie Front Top. The back of the top is cute. The colors aren't awful. But that tie...OMG.

I think I'm going to go back to not requesting anything specific in my fixes. I have a wedding coming up and a birthday dinner, but my hopes aren't high right now. We will see how next month goes! It can only get better from here, right?!

What I Wore This Week

Let's look at what I wore to work over the last week, starting with last Friday. The shirt is an old T.la one from Anthropologie that I knotted. The jeans are the Paige Jimmy Jimmy Boyfriend Skinny Jeans also from Anthropologie. They are hands down the BEST BOYFRIEND JEANS EVER. So comfortable, they hang just right, I love them. I ordered them in a 26 and a 27. I kept the 27 as I wanted them a little big. You can get them here

Monday I wore my favorite Ivy & Blu dress from Stitch Fix. The grey heels are from Victoria's Secret.

Tuesday I wore an old Maeve dress from Anthropologie. I wore it unbelted to work to be comfy, but I took pictures of it belted so you can see it both ways. The belt is also from Anthropologie. Black heels from Victoria's Secret.

Wednesday I wore an old Maeve shirt from Anthropologie, and a pair of Joie pants. I love these pants! I got them after seeing a picture of Kate Beckinsdale wearing them in white.

Thursday I went for a monochrome look with Kut from the Kloth boyfriend jeans from Stitch Fix, a Pure + Good top from Anthropologie, and a Gap sweater as the top wasn't work appropriate on it's own. Sandals are Sam Edelman.

And today I went with the Citizens of Humanity Skinny Jeans and a Spendid Top. The necklace is from Anthropologie.

And for the weekend I plan to be in......pajamas!!!!!
